"Having trawled through many old photos on my computer I have accumulated them all together in one collective webpage. This will make it easier to add more photos and experiences in the future without having to create new webpages every time."...Mike G
This trip took advantage of my connections to Pfizer, the company I worked for for many years as I had recently retired but they ran social trips for the staff and we went with them on an organised coach trip to Bergundy which is located in east-central France, roughly 100 to 300 kilometers southeast of Paris. Burgundy (Bourgogne in French) is a beautiful part of France that I had never visited before (or since) with rolling green hills dotted with fields of mustard and medieval villages. The region's towns go as far back as the Renaissance, the Middle Ages and into the mists of Gallo-Roman and Celtic antiquity. We stayed at a hotel on the banks of the Burgundy Canal, which is about 150 miles long and connects the River Yonne at Migennes in the north with the River Saone at St-Jean-de-Losne in the south. On the way home we visited the gothic cathedral at Reims.
